Putting A Face To The Care Provided
CHRISTUS School Clinics keep students healthy and in school through basic medical and screening services and mental health counseling. While clinic staff see students on a daily basis, they do not often get to interact with parents and other family members.
In November, the School Clinics were invited to Our Lady of Guatemala Catholic School to provide information regarding services offered by the program. “Participating in this event was a truly rewarding experience, allowing us to address any questions or concerns that parents may have had.,” said Erika Muniz. “We provided a detailed explanation of the screenings we conduct, and of first aid services, immunizations, Telemedicine services and the consents required for students to receive care from the clinics.”
Muniz and fellow staff member Perla Zuniga distributed informational fliers to the families present. “It was a valuable opportunity to strengthen our connections with both our students and their families,” said Muniz.
