CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare’s 18th Annual Spring Luncheon will honor Allegiance Bank and feature special guest Elizabeth Smart, the New York Times best-selling author of My Story and an advocate for change related to child abduction, recovery programs, and National legislation. The luncheon will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, 11:30 a.m. at River Oaks Country Club.

The abduction of Elizabeth Smart was one of the most followed child abduction cases of our time. Smart triumphantly testified before her captor and the world about the very private nightmare she suffered during her abduction, which led to conviction. The Founder of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, she has also helped promote The National AMBER alert, The Adam Walsh Child Protection & Safety Act and other safety legislation to help prevent abductions. Smart’s abduction and recovery continue to motivate parents, law enforcement and leaders worldwide to focus on children’s safety. She has recently released a new powerful and inspiring book, Where There’s Hope, about what it takes to overcome trauma, find the strength to move on, and reclaim one’s life.

A major community partner, Allegiance Bank has generously supported CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare’s work through its CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics. In Fiscal Year 2021, the Mobile Clinics cared for underserved patients in six area counties through over 39,000 encounters. Annually, CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics fills a healthcare void by serving men, women and children in medically-underserved and often hard-to-reach segments.
