In 1990, Rojas began working in Adult Education with the Houston Literacy Center (formerly the Houston R.E.A.D. Commission) at the registry office. Rojas has enjoyed teaching adults for over thirty years.
"I enjoy teaching ESL and I have seen great results in the lives of the students. It has really been a wonderful trip as I have helped students from many countries, such as Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Cuba, Spain, China, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil and many others. I also enjoy learning about each of the students' countries and cultures as we all learn about the United States and its diverse culture."
