CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare announces new leadership as Kara T. Hill assumes role as President
CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare is pleased to announce the appointment of Kara T. Hill to the position of President, CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare. With over 20 years leadership in healthcare and social service organizations, Kara comes to CHRISTUS Foundation with a strong background in organizational excellence and growth, financial administration, strategic planning and development.
“We are excited and fortunate to have Kara leading the Foundation’s work and continuing the 50 year legacy of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word through the Foundation’s mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ,” said Richard Torres, Foundation Board Chair. “She is highly regarded in the non-profit sector and has a track record of proven leadership and excellence in her prior roles.”
Kara began her career in Columbus, Ohio at New Directions of Knox County, assisting victims of domestic violence. Throughout her career, she has helped homeless individuals find housing as Director of Housing Services with The Salvation Army of Greater Columbus and as Rapid Re-Housing Trainer; she has assisted needy individuals addressing their healthcare needs as Clinic Manager with The Clinic at Faith Mission and as a social worker at Physicians’ Free Clinic. For the past 4 years, Kara led Christ Clinic in Katy, Texas as its Executive Director.
A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Kara holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She earned her Biblical Leadership Certificate at Vineyard Leadership Institute and successfully completed the Leadership Institute for Non Profit Executives at Rice University. Kara and her husband live in Katy with their two children.
Kara succeeds former Foundation President, Les Cave, who will continue his work with CHRISTUS Health in Houston and at the corporate level in Irving.
