Hurricane Harvey Relief
We were here then…We are here now…We will be here tomorrow.
Hurricane Harvey leaves in its wake tens of thousands of people without everyday necessities. The devastation has been heartbreaking as we see family, friends and fellow southeast Texans power through difficult times.
On September 8, 1900 the Sisters of Charity stood strong while the Galveston hurricane devastated their congregation and many, including Sisters, lost their lives. 117 years later, the Sisters of Charity, through CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare, are again standing tall during a difficult time. The Sisters kept CHIRSTUS St. Mary’s Clinic open, even during the storm, and all of our programs were open as quickly as it was safe to serve our community in need.
Most of the people we serve do not have the resources to get back on their feet without help. Whether it be Sister Rosanne Popp, M.D. keeping CHRISTUS St. Mary’s Clinic open during Harvey, or providing Tdap shots to the Dickinson and Friendswood communities who are clearing their homes or helping students in need at schools we support with backpacks and medical kits, we are here for the recovery efforts. These are only a few of the ways by which we will help our community get back on its feet.
The Sisters know about helping a community after a disaster, and CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare shares their vision and mission. Whatever the need, CHRISTUS Foundation will be there. However, we cannot do it alone. Your support makes this possible. With your help, you allow us to increase our ability to serve more families in their time of need. Your donation will go to helping underserved Houstonians and those in neighboring communities. Please consider making a gift today. Click here to support CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare.
