Partners in Health
This month, CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare and San José Clinic celebrate 10 years of partnering in better health. Since 2010, CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare has housed San José Clinic in the W.T. & Louise J. Moran Health Center. In 2008, the downtown building that the clinic had previously resided in for more than 50 years sustained massive damage during Hurricane Ike.
With the new CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare building already under construction, an arrangement was made to house San José Clinic upon completion. “The opportunity CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare has provided for San José Clinic to operate in this building has made a tremendous difference in the environment and the quality of care we are able to provide to the uninsured and underserved people that we serve,” said Maureen Sanders, President & CEO of San José Clinic.
According to CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare President Richard Torres, the partnership is mission-aligned. “Both organizations are reaching those patients that fall through the cracks in traditional healthcare. Together we are ensuring that all of our community receive access to healthcare.”
